Rhinoplasty is surgery to reshape the nose and it can greatly enhance
your appearance and self-confidence. Rhinoplasty is one of the most
common of all plastic surgery procedures and is a special interest
of Mr David Morgan.
Surgery can change many of the features of your nose, including
the shape and prominence of the bridge, the position and appearance
of the tip, and the overall projection and symmetry of the nose.
It may also correct a birth or post-traumatic defect, and can help
relieve many breathing problems.
Our goal is to produce a nose that appears natural, functions
properly, and is in harmony with the rest of your face. Your wishes
about the type of nose you want are listened to carefully, and you
will be given a realistic appraisal as to what can be achieved with
surgery.
The surgery is usually performed under general anaesthesia and
as either a day procedure or overnight stay. Most of the surgery
is done from within the nostrils, but occasionally a small external
incision needs to be made. A splint is worn for a week post-surgery
and bruising and swelling will generally have settled after two
weeks.
